Yogi Adityanath government has made a big announcement for police recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has announced relaxation of 3 years in the age limit for 32 thousand 679 recruitments. Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party had made demands in this regard.
This decision given on the instructions of CM Yogi has brought great relief to the candidates for police recruitment on 32,679 posts. It was told that there will be a relaxation of 3 years in the age limit for direct recruitment of UP Police and Jail Department. This includes constables, PAC, special security forces, women battalion, jail warders.
Age relaxation has been given to all categories for recruitment to a total of 32,679 posts. In this context, the UP government has issued a government order. In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, it was said that the decision has been taken in the interest of the candidates.
What was said in the order to increase the UP Police age limit?
It was said in a press release that Uttar Pradesh, after due consideration of the interests of the candidates, has issued Government Order No. 1/1194447/6-1001(008) 24/23, dated 31.12.2025, in continuation of the release of even number, regarding inviting online application forms from the candidates under direct recruitment-2025 for constable civil police and equivalent posts in Uttar Pradesh Police. By 05.01.2026, to fill a total of 32679 vacant posts of Constable N.P. (Male/Female), Constable PAC/Armed Police (Male), Constable Special Security Force (Male), Female Constable for Female Battalion, Constable Mounted Police (Male), Jail Warder (Male) and Jail Warder (Female) of Personnel Section-2, Sub Administration Uttar Pradesh Public Service (Recruitment) In the light of Rule 3 of Rules-1992, related Notification No. 11/3/1991-Ka0-2-92, dated 23.07.1992, it has been decided to provide relaxation of 03 years for all categories as an exception in the maximum age limit prescribed for the said direct recruitment.
Let us tell you that in this matter, many public representatives including SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, BJP leader and MLA Shalabhamani Tripathi had written a letter to CM Yogi demanding relaxation in the age limit.
