Donald Trump said that due to the tariffs imposed on countries around the world, America has become much stronger in terms of national security and economically. “We will soon make over $600 billion from tariffs, but the Fake News Media refuses to talk about it because they hate and disrespect our country and want to interfere in the upcoming tariff decision,” Trump said in a post on his social media platform Tooth Social.
Heavy tariff imposed on India
Last year, within a few months of his second term in the White House, Trump had announced tariffs on imports from countries around the world. He had said that America has been treated unfairly and other countries are imposing much higher tariffs on American products. Trump has imposed a 50 percent tariff on India, which also includes a 25 percent tariff on the purchase of Russian oil.
What do experts say
According to PTI, experts say that if America further increases the import tariff on goods coming from India, then the country’s exports can be seriously affected. However, this can help exporters to diversify their foreign markets. According to experts, as the threat of tariffs is deepening, India will have to take a clear decision on the issue of Russian oil.
Economic research institute GTRI said on Monday (January 5) that Indian exports to the US have already declined by 20.7 percent between May and November 2025 and this decline may accelerate if the tariffs increase further. Trump had said on Sunday that they (India) really wanted to make me happy. Modi is a very good person. He knew I was not happy and it was important to him to make me happy.
