Former DGP Alok Raj resigned from the post of Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) Chairman. Resigned just two days after assuming office. He has surprised everyone by resigning suddenly. Many types of questions are being raised. However, it is being said that he has resigned due to personal reasons. The resignation letter has been sent to the General Administration Department. He has been an IPS officer of 1989 batch. Retired from Bihar Government service on 31 December 2025. On the same day, the state government handed him the responsibility of Chairman of BSSC.
Took charge on January 4
He was to formally take charge as Chairman of the Commission on January 1, 2026. He took charge on 4 January. Alok Raj was to remain on the post of Chairman of Bihar Staff Selection Commission for the next five years i.e. till he completes the age of 65 years. Before retirement, he was working as Director General of Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation. During his tenure, he gave impetus to many important projects related to police infrastructure.
Known as a strict administrator
Alok Raj has been counted among the senior and trusted officers of Bihar Police. He has been recognized as a strict and disciplined administrator. Let us tell you that Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) conducts examinations for appointment to various government posts in the state.
Let us tell you that in December last year, 1991 batch IPS officer Vinay Kumar was appointed DGP of Bihar in place of Alok Raj. Vinay Kumar was appointed for two years.
Another arrest in BPSC paper leak case
Meanwhile, another member of Sanjeev Mukhiya gang was arrested in BPSC TRE 3 paper leak case. There is also a connection with Haryana STET leak. A total of 289 accused have been arrested so far in case number 6/24 registered by EOU in the BPSC TRE 3 paper leak case in Bihar. The main accused in this case were said to be associated with the notorious Sanjeev Mukhiya gang. Another accused belonging to the same gang was arrested yesterday. The arrested person has been identified as Bipul Kumar alias Bipul Sharma. He has also been involved in the Haryana STET paper leak case. EOU is interrogating the accused and gathering information about the network and other associates.
