After Bangladesh, another neighboring country of India announced the team for T20 World Cup, chose a captain who believes in Hindu religion.

Cricket Nepal on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Rohit Paudel will continue to captain the team. Whereas, Deependra Singh Airi has been chosen as the vice-captain.

23-year-old all-rounder Rohit Paudel has played an important role in Nepal’s development in cricket by continuously supporting his team with the bat. He will get the support of Deependra Singh Airi in this World Cup. Deependra’s all-round ability will be important in giving Nepal the right balance in the shortest format of cricket.

Nepal team wants to improve its disappointing performance in T20 World Cup 2024. This team of 15 members is built on spin, depth in all-rounders and the ability to withstand increasing pressure in batting.

Sandeep Lamichhane will lead the spin attack, who has a lot of experience in international cricket around the world. He will bowl along with left arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi. Along with this, he will also get support from other spinners Deependra Singh Airi and Baseer Ahmed. Deependra, Gulshan Jha, Arif Shaikh and Sompal Kami remain the backbone of Nepal’s team as all-rounders.

Kushal Bhurtel will be responsible for giving the team an aggressive start and creating momentum in the initial overs. Asif Sheikh will provide strength and stability behind the stumps. Lokesh will help in stabilizing the middle order and providing support to the team. Sandeep Jora and Nandan Yadav will provide depth to the batting lineup after the first six batsmen. Sompal Kami and Karan KC are in command of the fast bowling unit.

Nepal has been placed in Group C in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Nepal will face England on 8 February, after which it will face Italy on 12 February. This team will face West Indies on 15 February. He will face Bangladesh on 17th February.
