Last week, Dhurandhar also created the record of the highest grossing Bollywood film in North America, leaving behind ‘Pathan’. According to Saknilak report, the film earned $17.50 million in North America till the fourth Tuesday while Pathan earned $17.49 million.
Earning figures in India and around the world
In India too, the film has earned Rs 781.75 crore so far and its worldwide earning has crossed Rs 1200 crore. With this, ‘Dhurandhar’ has also crossed the earning of Rs 821 crore of the Hindi version of ‘Pushpa 2’. However, Pushpa 2 had earned a total of Rs 400 crore more in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada together.
Story and theme of the film
The film is a spy-action thriller and is the first film of a two-part series. Ranveer Singh is playing the role of Hamza in the film, who is an Indian spy and enters the criminal and political underworld of Lyari area of Pakistan for anti-terror operation. The story also includes many real-life events such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
Cast and sequel information
The film also stars Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Sanjay Dutt. Its sequel is going to be released in March this year.
