America has issued an official travel advisory for its citizens on Thursday (January 8, 2026). In its advisory, the Trump administration has advised American citizens not to travel to these 21 countries of the world. These countries include countries like Russia, Ukraine, Libya, Burkina Faso, although India and Pakistan are not named among them.
Foreign Department shared the post
The US Department of Foreign Consular Affairs issued a travel advisory in a post on social media platform X on Thursday (January 8, 2026). In the post, the US State Department said that we are issuing travel advisory for American citizens with level 1 to 4. Level-4 in this means do not travel there.
We issue Travel Advisories with Levels 1 – 4. Level 4 means Do Not Travel. We assign Level 4 based on local conditions and/or our limited ability to help Americans there. These places are dangerous. Do not go for any reason.

The post said that we assign Level-4 keeping in mind the local conditions and our limited capacity to provide assistance to American citizens present in these countries. These places are dangerous. Do not travel to these places for any reason.

Trump administration took steps after Russian leader’s nuclear threat
This step has been taken by America’s Donald Trump administration after the nuclear threat from Russia. In fact, the US Army seized a Russian-flagged oil tanker Marinera in the Atlantic Ocean, after which there is a situation of conflict between the two countries.
Russia termed this action of America as piracy. Whereas Alexey Juravlev, an MP from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s party and vice-chairman of the State Committee on Defense in the country, threatened America to use nuclear weapons.
