Vladimir Putin is very angry after the US seized a tanker belonging to Russia in the North Atlantic on Wednesday (January 7, 2026). This tanker named Bela 1 escaped after breaking the US Navy siege near Venezuela, it was carrying the Russian flag. Russia has reacted sharply to this action of America and called it piracy. Russia has also expressed displeasure over Trump’s action on Venezuela and after the latest incident, the tension between Russia and America seems to be increasing further.
In such a situation, many questions are being raised, the most important of which is whether Russia will take revenge for this incident. Will a war break out between the world’s two biggest powers and the nuclear powers? If this war happens, crores of people will die and crores will be injured. Not only this, the ill effects of this war will be seen in the future also and the future generations will be victims of it.
On September 18, 2019, a report was published in icanw.org, in which it was told that if there is a nuclear war between Russia and America, then within the first few hours, 3 crore 41 lakh people will lose their lives and 5 crore 74 lakh people will be seriously injured. This report was presented on the basis of the study of International Physicians which came in 2013 for Prevention of Nuclear War. According to the report, not only this, side effects of nuclear war will also be seen in the future, due to which the number of deaths will increase further.
Things like radioactivity and a huge drop in the earth’s temperature will be seen. According to the report, even if there is a limited nuclear war between India and Pakistan, the situation will become very bad. More than one billion people will face hunger and 1.3 billion people will be forced to face severe food insecurity.
Researchers had made this estimate based on the number of nuclear weapons of Russia and America at that time. At present, Russia has 5,449 nuclear weapons and America has 5,277 nuclear weapons.
