Tension is at its peak between America and Latin American countries. Recently, America conducted a military operation in Venezuela and arrested its President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. This military action of America has been strongly condemned by Latin American countries and China and Russia. Trump has given such a statement regarding Cuba, which is considered close to Venezuela, which has turned the eyes of the whole world towards America.
Donald Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social, ‘He likes the idea of Foreign Minister Marco Rubio becoming the President of Cuba.’ Actually, a user had written in a post, ‘Marco Rubio will be the President of Cuba.’ While sharing this, Trump wrote, ‘Sounds good to me!’
However, there is no evidence of any official American diplomacy behind this post. At the moment it just seems like a mild statement made on social media. This post of Trump comes after his aggressive statements related to Latin America. Earlier he had said that the government of Colombia is being run by a sick person.
US President Trump gave open warning to Cuba
Trump has also made comments related to Cuba’s economic difficulties. He claimed that the island country, which was heavily dependent on Venezuelan oil, was on the verge of collapse. Trump has warned Cuba to make a deal with America.
On the post written on Truth, he said that Cuba survived for many years on a large amount of oil and money from Venezuela. Provided security services to the last two Venezuelan dictators, but no more.
We have the safest army to defend Venezuela: Trump
Trump said that Venezuela now has the United States. This is the most powerful army in the world to protect them. We will protect them. Now not a single oil or money will go to Cuba. Make a compromise before it’s too late.
Meanwhile, on Trump’s reactions, Colombian President Gustavo Petro has called for unity among the countries of Latin America. Fellow countries have been urged to avoid becoming slaves of foreign powers. Cuba has also condemned Trump’s statement.
