India Vs Bangladesh Cricket Controversy: Now Pakistan has tried to infiltrate into the cricket dispute between India and Bangladesh. There has been a lot of tension in India-Bangladesh relations in recent times. It started with the release of Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Rahman was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a huge amount of Rs 9.20 crore, but the team released this Bangladeshi player on the instructions of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). As soon as KKR did this, Bangladesh Cricket Board has demanded from ICC to shift its matches in T20 World Cup to some other venue instead of India. This tournament is going to start next month i.e. from 7th February.
Where are Bangladesh’s matches in India?
In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Bangladesh has to play four league stage matches in India, out of which 3 are at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and 1 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. ICC has rejected this demand of Bangladesh Cricket Board, but despite this it is adamant on its demand that it will not send Bangladeshi players to India for the tournament due to security reasons. In such a situation, now the Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed to the ICC that it is ready to host Bangladesh’s matches in the T20 World Cup. However, it is very unlikely that the ICC will accept Pakistan’s proposal.
T20 World Cup will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka
ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be played hosted by India and Sri Lanka. In the T20 World Cup, Pakistan team will play all its matches in Sri Lanka only. Pakistan had already said this before the ICC. In such a situation, the schedule was also prepared accordingly. At the same time, the case of Bangladesh is completely different. Bangladesh has demanded to change its venue at the last moment. In such a situation this is not possible at all. Booking of hotel and traveling tickets has already been done as per the schedule. Because of this the demand of Bangladesh cannot be met.
Why was Mustafizur released from IPL 2026?
Mustafizur Rahman has become the main reason for the ongoing cricket dispute between India and Bangladesh. In such a situation, many people will have this question in their mind that why KKR released Rahman after buying him. In fact, the whole matter is that for some time now, there has been protest in India against the violence against minority Hindus in Bangladesh. In this protest, the issue of Mustafizur also came up and it was demanded that Bangladesh players should be boycotted in IPL. In such a situation, BCCI had again ordered the release of Mustafizur Rahman.
