Virat Kohli’s age is increasing, but at the same time he is also increasing the pace of breaking records. He has completed 28,000 international runs in the first ODI match against New Zealand in Vadodara. In this match played on January 11, Virat Kohli played an inning of 93 runs, for which he was awarded the Player of the Match award.
In this match, the New Zealand team had scored 300 runs while playing first. In reply, the Indian team won in 49 overs with 4 wickets remaining. Virat contributed 93 runs and captain Shubhman Gill contributed 56 runs. This was the 45th time that Virat was awarded the Player of the Match award in ODI cricket. After the match, Virat told that he does not keep the trophy received after the match with himself.

Virat Kohli revealed a big secret as to where he keeps the trophy he receives after the match. He said, “I send them (trophies) to my mother in Gurgaon, she loves collecting trophies. If I look at my entire journey, it is no less than a dream come true for me. I know about my capabilities and have worked very hard to reach this point.”
Virat has won the Player of the Match award in ODI cricket 45 times so far. He is at third place in terms of winning this award the most number of times in ODI cricket. Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka has become player of the match 48 times and Sachin Tendulkar has become player of the match 62 times in ODI cricket.
