Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium will no longer be the home ground of Royal Challengers Bangalore. In IPL 2026, RCB can play its home matches at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur. Apart from RCB, Rajasthan Royals can also change their home ground.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL 2025 title. After that historic victory, there was going to be a victory parade for the winning team RCB at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Meanwhile, there was a stampede outside the stadium, due to which 11 people died. After that tragic incident, no high-level cricket match has been played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB will get 2 new home grounds!
There is news that in the next season i.e. IPL 2026, RCB can play five matches in Navi Mumbai, while 2 matches can be held in Raipur. RCB management has reached this conclusion after meeting with the concerned officials. After the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium last year, security concerns regarding the ground have remained the center of discussion. Till now Chinnaswamy Stadium has not got permission to organize any big level match.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had performed well last season. RCB team stood second in the points table. In the final, Bengaluru team won by defeating Punjab Kings by 6 runs. This was the first time in 18 years that RCB won the Indian Premier League title.
Home ground of Rajasthan Royals will also change
Last year Rajasthan Cricket Association was not able to conduct elections. After that, IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal had told RCA that if he is not able to conduct the elections then the Rajasthan Royals team will not be able to organize its home matches in Jaipur.
