Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday (January 13, 2026) presented many important information to the country regarding Operation Sindoor and the army. He said the precise, balanced and determined response to Operation Sindoor has clearly demonstrated India’s preparedness, strong decision-making ability and strategic acumen against cross-border terrorism. Apart from this, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi also shared information about the new battalions joining the army.

When General Upendra Dwivedi was asked during the press conference on Tuesday (January 13, 2026) about new military organizations in the Army, he said that we are going to include 25 Bhairav ​​battalions in the Indian Army. With this, 15 battalions of Shakti Baan will initially be inducted into the Indian Army. After this, 11 more battalions of Shakti Baan will be inducted into the army. Apart from this, 34 Divyastra batteries will also be inducted in the Indian Army.

Second phase induction will be done in Rudra Brigade: General Dwivedi

At the same time, he said that we are also going to induct 7 more battalions in Rudra Brigade. The Army Chief said that two battalions of Rudra Brigade are already included in the Indian Army. After this, four more battalions will be commissioned in the second phase.

What did the Army Chief say about Operation Sindoor?

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi also mentioned two turning points during Operation Sindoor in the press conference. He said that Indian security forces carried out a 22-minute attack on terrorist hideouts. The first turning point in this was that their decision making system was completely disrupted by the action of the Indian Army and it took them a long time to understand what was happening.

While referring to the second turning point, General Dwivedi said that on the morning of May 10, 2025, some instructions were given to the chiefs of the three armies as to what would be done after this if this war progresses.
