Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that the International Cricket Council i.e. ICC Has refused to accept his request. Actually, BCB has refused to come to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup citing security reasons. Bangladesh Board had requested ICC to shift their matches outside India like Pakistan. However, ICC has refused to accept this request of BCB.
The ICC on Tuesday requested the BCB to reconsider its demand to move the T20 World Cup matches out of India, but the BCCB has refused to do so, reiterating security concerns. In a statement, BCB said that the board’s decision remains the same, although the ICC has refused to accept its request. BCB had requested the ICC to hold its World Cup matches outside India due to security reasons, but since the schedule of the T20 World Cup starting from February 7 has already been decided, the ICC has not approved it.
BCB said in its statement, “ICC has said that the schedule of the tournament has been announced. In such a situation this cannot be done. ICC has asked BCB to reconsider the decision, but the board’s decision will not change. Both sides have agreed to continue finding a solution. BCB is committed to protecting the interests of its players, officials and staff and will continue to dialogue with the ICC on this issue..”
BCB says that it is not safe for its players to go to India, but the ICC’s risk assessment report does not indicate any danger to the team. BCB President Aminul Islam, CEO Nizamuddin Chaudhary and other senior officials participated in the press conference with ICC on Thursday.
BCB said, “During the conversation, BCB said that it is firm on its decision of not sending the team to India. The request to move Bangladesh’s matches out of India has also been reiterated.“ Let us tell you that in the World Cup, Bangladesh has to play three matches in the league stage in Kolkata and one in Mumbai.
