Shreyas also remembered his first Makar Sankranti after marriage. At that time, he was preparing for the film ‘Iqbal’ in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, while his wife Deepti was in Mumbai. That day he neither saw kites nor got any festive feeling. Shreyas believes that Makar Sankranti is actually a festival of being with family and being away from loved ones makes him miss it even more.
Daisy Shah’s changed thinking and childhood memories
For Daisy Shah, Makar Sankranti is associated with sweet childhood memories. She tells that earlier she used to fly kites with her father and the terrace of the house was filled with relatives. However, now his thinking has changed. Daisy is worried about the harm caused to birds and animals by kite flying, so she speaks openly against it. Yet the warmth of the festival and the joy of being together is still equally special for them.
Rani Mukherjee celebrates with food, family and happiness
Like Daisy, Rani Mukherjee also celebrated Makar Sankranti in a special way. She reached Gujarat for the promotion of ‘Mardaani 3’ and was seen flying kites in Ahmedabad. Rani said that being in Gujarat on an auspicious day like Makar Sankranti and the love her film is getting is very special for her. According to him, this festival gives an opportunity to family, good food and living the moment and this is its real beauty.
