In Lucknow, BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary paid a courtesy call on Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. This is the first time after becoming UP state president that both the leaders have made such a formal meeting. During this, he had meaningful discussions on various political issues and party’s strategy. Although it is being described as a courtesy meeting, many discussions have intensified in political circles.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya met Pankaj Chaudhary at his official residence, 7 Kalidas Marg in Lucknow, during which former MP Ravindra Kushwaha was also present with him. Both of them shared its pictures on social media. Pankaj Chaudhary wrote- ‘Today, courtesy call on Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya ji, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government in Lucknow.’
Keshav Maurya said it was a courtesy call.

Discussions intensify regarding OBC vote bank
For the first time after Pankaj Chaudhary became the UP state president, speculations have intensified in political circles regarding this meeting with Keshav Prasad Maurya. This is being seen as a sign of increasing coordination between the organization and the government. Pankaj Chaudhary has been given the command of UP BJP as an OBC face. So that the party’s hold on communities like Kurmi, Maurya and Kushwaha can be strengthened.
Some political analysts are also linking this meeting with the expansion of the cabinet in UP and the strategy for 2027 assembly elections. He believes that Bharatiya Janata Party wants to maintain better coordination between the government and the organization, so that there is no gap between the two and the party appears united in the election field.
In fact, in the last Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party suffered a lot of loss in OBC votes. Due to the PDA slogan of Samajwadi Party, they made a dent in the OBC voters of BJP in large numbers. BJP now wants to integrate this vote bank back with the party.
