The district administration has taken strict steps towards keeping Haridwar district clean, beautiful and environment friendly. On the instructions of District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, the Transport Department has started a special cleanliness campaign across the district. Under this campaign, it has now been made mandatory to keep dustbins or garbage bags in all vehicles plying in Haridwar. Strict action will be taken by the Transport Department against those who violate the rules and fine will also be imposed.
The Transport Department has clarified that throwing any kind of garbage on roads, public places or open spaces during vehicle operation will be completely prohibited. In this regard, guidelines have been issued to all the drivers and vehicle owners of the district. Especially it will be mandatory for pilgrims, tourist vehicles, public transport and private vehicles to follow this rule.

Giving information, ARTO Enforcement Neha Jha said that on the instructions of the District Magistrate, this campaign has been started with the aim of maintaining cleanliness in the district. He said that it will be mandatory for all the drivers to keep garbage bags in their vehicles, so that the garbage generated during the journey can be kept in it. If a complaint is received about throwing garbage on the road or a violation is found during investigation, a challan will be issued against the concerned driver as per rules.
ARTO Neha Jha also said that regular checks and monitoring will be done under this campaign. Transport Department teams will run special checking campaigns on major routes, pilgrimage sites and crowded areas. If the rules are not followed, along with fine, other legal action can also be taken.
