Mohammad Yunus preparing for war? Bangladesh is planning to buy ATAK helicopter and deadly drone from Turkey

Since last year’s coup in Bangladesh, the US government is busy creating an anti-India atmosphere with the help of fundamentalists. This is the reason why for the last few months he has been spewing anger against the North East states of India with the help of Pakistan. Turkey is also trying to take advantage of this and that is why Recep Tayyip Erdogan is now busy in improving relations with India’s neighboring Islamic countries.

Talks going on to purchase attack helicopter and UAV drone

Bangladesh has intensified talks with Turkey regarding attack helicopters and UAV drones, which is a sign of deepening defense partnership between the two countries. Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has intensified efforts to purchase eight T129 ATAK attack helicopters from Turkey, regarding which Bangladesh Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan met senior officials of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) on Wednesday (January 14).

Meetings held at many levels regarding defense deal

According to North East Eye report, a large TAI delegation arrived in Dhaka on January 13 and has since been in talks with BAF officials involved in the procurement process. This delegation includes senior officials associated with ANKA UAV and ATAK projects. Defense deal has been discussed at different levels in many meetings. An intelligence officer said that along with helicopters, Bangladesh is now considering including long-range UAVs in its weapons.

Features of ANKA series drones

He told, ‘The ANKA series drone manufactured by TAI is part of the Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) group. It has been designed for espionage, surveillance and attack missions. It is equipped with special variants like Anka-S with advanced satellite and radar systems, which make naval and army operations more effective. These drones have the ability to stay in the air continuously for about 24 hours.

Strength of ATAK attack helicopter

Bangladesh is planning to buy ATAK attack helicopter soon. It has been jointly developed by AgustaWestland and TAI together with the Turkish Land Forces Command (TLF). The official said, ‘This helicopter has an aluminum airframe, a five-bladed main rotor, a two-bladed tail rotor and wheeled landing gear. It has been designed to operate in hot and challenging climates. The helicopter is fitted with four hardpoints and can carry up to 1,200 kg of weapons.
