Congenital Reproductive System Disorder: A very rare medical case that surfaced in Lucknow has surprised everyone. Doctors have successfully treated a girl who was born with two uteruses and two vaginas. This congenital problem was making his life difficult since childhood. This girl, resident of Ballia district, had no control over urine since childhood. She remained dependent on diapers for years. The situation did not improve with increasing age. Along with this, he also had to face serious problems related to defecation, due to which both his daily life and social life were getting affected.
Treatment in many hospitals, but no solution
The family sought treatment in local hospitals for years, but did not get permanent relief from anywhere. Eventually, he was brought to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, where doctors began a detailed examination. Medical examination revealed that the girl had three serious congenital problems. Doctors found that she had two fully developed uteruses and two vaginas. Apart from this, the urine tubes were opening at the wrong place, due to which urine kept leaking continuously. At the same time, the anal opening was also abnormally developed and was located very close to the vagina.
The team of doctors made a three-stage surgery plan
A team of doctors led by urology expert Professor Ishwar Ram Dhayal handled the case. Considering the complexity of the situation, it was decided to perform the surgery in three stages. In the first phase, the defecation path was corrected, so that the problem of bowel movement could be solved. After this, the wrong position of the urinary tubes was corrected through two separate surgeries. These surgeries were extremely challenging, but due to the caution and experience of the doctors, all the stages were successful.
Have such cases happened before?
According to the doctors, now the girl has got control over urination and the problems related to defecation have also been cured to a great extent. This was the first case in the state. According to Mayo Clinic and other medical reports, this is quite rare and this condition is present from birth, many women live normal lives with it. In the year 2022, the case of a woman named Stephanie Haxton came to light, who is a resident of Alaska.
