India will be the country with the fourth most powerful navy in the world, will leave Britain behind, know after 15 years whether America or China will be at number one?

Indian Navy is rapidly increasing its strength. By the year 2040, the Indian Navy will reach fourth place in the world in terms of the number of nuclear powered submarines. During this time, India will leave Britain behind and will join the top maritime powers after America, Russia and China.

Currently America is at the forefront
At present, America is at the forefront in the matter of nuclear submarines in the world. It has between 60 and 70 nuclear submarines, which include attack and ballistic missile submarines. After America comes Russia and China. Currently, Britain is in fourth place, followed by France.

The balance will change in the next 15 years
This situation is going to change in the coming decade and a half. India is running the largest submarine construction program in its history. Due to this, India will first leave France behind and then will also leave Britain behind by 2040. This information has been given in a report by idrw.org.

Plan based on indigenous submarines
This advance of India is entirely based on indigenous nuclear submarine programs. This includes the Arihant class, the upcoming S5 class ballistic missile submarines and the nuclear attack submarines being built under Project-77.

The numbers are small now, but the plan is big
At present the Indian Navy has two active nuclear submarines. A third submarine is expected to be commissioned by the end of this year, while the fourth will enter service next year. This number may seem small now, but it is the initial stage of a longer plan.

S5 class will become the backbone of nuclear power
Indian Navy has started construction of two S5 class submarines. Apart from this, there are plans to build four more S5 submarines. In this way, a total of six S5 class submarines will strengthen India’s maritime nuclear power.

Project-77 will increase attack capability
Along with this, nuclear attack submarines will be built under Project-77. Initially there will be two submarines, but later their number may reach six. These submarines will play an important role in protecting aircraft carriers and keeping an eye on enemy submarines.

India ahead of France by 2035
It is estimated that by 2035 India will have a total of eight nuclear submarines. These will include four Arihant class, two S5 class and two Project-77 submarines. With this, India will overtake France, whose number of submarines is currently nine and is not likely to increase further.

Will leave Britain behind by 2040
By 2040, India will induct two more S5 class submarines and at least one more Project-77 attack submarine into the navy. With this, India’s total number of nuclear submarines will increase to 10. At the same time, Britain’s number is expected to remain around nine.

Big change in maritime policy
The increasing number of nuclear submarines shows a major change in India’s maritime policy. Now the focus is not limited to just coastal security, but on long-range surveillance, strategic strength and constant presence at sea.

Impact will increase in the Indo-Pacific region
The impact of India’s growing nuclear submarine power will also be visible in the Indo-Pacific region. This will strengthen the security of sea lanes, monitoring of enemy submarines and nuclear counter-capability. By 2040, this journey started from INS Arihant will make India among the top nuclear submarine powers of the world.
