State Bank of India: If you are also a customer of State Bank of India (SBI), then there is big news for you. State Bank of India has made changes in ATM transaction charges. Actually, the bank has increased the charges for using ATM after the free transaction limit is over. That is, if you are a customer of SBI, then every time you withdraw cash from another bank’s ATM after the monthly limit of cash withdrawal is over, you will be charged Rs 23 (including GST) and for non-financial transactions like checking balance, you will be charged Rs 11.
Many people use ATM to avoid long queues in the bank. In such a situation, this new rule of SBI can shock them. The bank has increased the fees for using these automatic deposit cum withdrawal machines.
On which accounts will these changes be applicable?
Earlier it used to cost Rs 21 for withdrawing cash after the free limit. Now with GST it has become Rs 23. Now Rs 11 will be charged for non-financial transactions like balance inquiry or mini statement. This price hike will not affect Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) account, SBI Debit Card holders using SBI ATM, or Kisan Credit Card account.
Why did SBI take this decision?
Due to the recent increase in SBI interchange fees, it has been decided to increase the transaction charges. Under the new rule, SBI savings account holders will continue to get 5 free transactions every month at ATMs of other banks as before, but after this limit, they will have to pay Rs 23 plus GST for withdrawing cash and Rs 11 plus GST for non-financial transactions like balance check or mini statement. In such a situation, people who frequently withdraw or deposit money from ATM may face problems. Charges are increasing, so it is better to be careful in advance.
