Famous Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu has spread the magic of his velvety voice since the 90s. Kumar Sanu has sung songs in many films. Those too are such songs which are still on the tongue till date. Even today people are a fan of his voice. Although he has sung many songs but there are many songs which he could not sing, were not offered to him or were offered to him but he could not do them. Kumar Sanu is very regretful about this.
Actually, recently Kumar Sanu became a part of Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast. During this, he talked about many things regarding his career, songs and journey. During this interview, Kumar Sanu also talked about his relationship with AR Rahman. During this, he also told that he regrets that he did not get a chance to sing the songs of the film ‘Roja’. However, he told that not only this but there are many other films in which he did not get a chance to sing, but he regrets the most for ‘Roja’.
Sad to not get these songs
In this interview, when Kumar Sanu was asked which were the songs which made you sad when you did not get them. You felt that if you had got these, you could have sung better. In such a situation, the singer said that there are many such songs. There are many singers like Udit ji and Abhijeet Bhattacharjee, there are some songs which would have been better if I had got them. He first said that there is a song from the film ‘Lagaan’ which was sung by Udit ji, I could have sung it better. That song would have sounded better with my voice.
Misunderstanding with Rahman
Talking about the relationship between him and AR Rahman, he said, ‘I have sung a song ‘Kabhi Na Kabhi’ for Rahman Sahab, I had sung this song for him long ago, after which there was some misunderstanding for the film ‘Roja’. At that time I was doing other songs, so it was not possible for me to go to Madras and record. He took this to heart and I regret that I could not observe the fast. I had told him that if you want to shoot then come to Mumbai and do it, I will not come there.
This was the only reason why the audience never got to see the Jugalbandi of Kumar Sanu and AR Rahman. Kumar Sanu also said that he is very serious about his commitment. Same thing happened at that time also and probably AR Rahman Saheb could not understand this. Well, whatever the case may be, the audience missed seeing this excellent Jugalbandi.
