There is now peace on the streets after weeks of protests against the rule of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. However, the fear of use of force still persists among local protesters. Immigrants are leaving the country. Meanwhile, Al Mustafa International University professor and West Asia expert Zameer Abbas Jafri told ABP Live that the situation here is not what is being shown to the world.

Showing vehicles moving normally on the roads, he said that protests inside Iran are over. On January 12, there was a demonstration in support of the system and against terrorism, after which the demonstration against the government ended. Let me tell you the whole controversy about what happened in Iran.

Why rally in support of Khamenei?

Indian Zamir Abbas Jafari, living in Qum, Iran, said that more than 10 million people had come to support the government inside Iran, more than 30 lakh people had come in Tehran alone. It had 3 objectives; The first step was to tell the government about the problems of the economy that we have a problem and we have to solve it. Secondly, we are against terrorism, thirdly, we know America and Israel as our enemies and we are aware of their conspiracies.

He further said, “Protests against the government in Iran started in the last week of December. US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meet. During the same period, Iran’s currency fell by 30-40 percent. America created pressure in Iran and inflation increased by 30-40 percent and economic problems increased in Iran. Due to increase in the prices of things, there is resentment among the people and seeing the benefit of this, Israel wanted to enter inside Iran.

Why did people stay away from anti-government protests?

Zameer Abbas Jafari, who is supporting Iran, says, “Whenever there are legitimate protests, masked people enter them and start committing violence inside the protest.” The result is that the people of Iran gradually move away from this violence. By the first week of January, these protests begin to subside, but Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of the late Shah of Iran, appeals to the people, who no longer have any connection with Iran, to come to the streets. He and Israel declare that we will attack on January 8 and terrorist attacks take place in Iran.

Jafri claimed, “Approximately more than 50 mosques are burnt.” Imambargahs are burnt. Banks are attacked. Shopping centers are attacked, a large number of attacks take place in Iran. More than 100 government officials are killed in this attack, the internet is shut down on 8 January. Almost 90 percent violence reduces on January 9.

Remembered past demonstrations

Recalling the previous demonstration, he said, “Last time in January, when there was talk of war, Iran gave a befitting reply to Israel. Israel itself got the ceasefire done. Iran attacked the American air base. Due to which America and Israel had achieved ceasefire and they did not want to suffer this loss again. That is why they have now created such a situation in Iran that the people of Iran should come on the streets and indulge in violence in the name of protest and then Israel would attack, but when people protested in favor of the government, their entire plan became useless. If there is an attack on Iran, it will be very dangerous for America and Israel. He will have to face a lot of difficulties.

According to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), about 3,000 people died in Iran after the demonstrations began. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump was repeatedly warning that America would attack Iran if the Iranian regime resorted to violence against the protesters. But it is believed that Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Egypt appealed to America not to attack Iran and warned that it could create security and economic risks. There is currently peace in Iran after diplomatic steps.
