Baloch leader and human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has made serious allegations against Pakistan and said that Islamabad is targeting religious places in Balochistan province. He claimed that Pakistani security forces have so far destroyed about 40 mosques in Balochistan. This statement of Mir Baloch has come at a time when Pakistan is accusing India of profiling mosques.

Mir Yar Baloch’s reaction has come after the statement of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, in which India was accused of profiling mosques, imams and mosque committees in Kashmir. Pakistan had called it interference in religious matters and violation of religious freedom. Countering this, Mir Baloch said that Pakistan has no moral right to preach to others on religious rights.

Post to Mir Yaar Baloch

On social media platform X, Mir Yar Baloch termed Pakistan a terrorist country and said that Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and other minorities have been targeted there for a long time. He wrote that the Republic of Balochistan stands firmly with India’s principled stand on the issue of Balochistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

direct bombing of mosques

Mir Baloch alleged that the Pakistani Army carried out direct bombing of mosques in Balochistan, burnt the Holy Quran and abducted religious leaders of many mosques. According to him, all this is part of the strategy to intimidate and suppress the Baloch people. He claimed that the mosque of Khan of Kalat, the ruler of Balochistan, was the first place which was targeted by the Pakistani Army with tanks and cannons.

Mortar shell marks on the walls of the mosque

Mir Yar Baloch said that even today marks of mortar shells are present on the walls of that mosque, which are proof of Pakistan’s military action and alleged religious hypocrisy. He said that on one hand Pakistan calls itself the protector of Islam, while on the other hand it has been destroying religious places.

Demand of people of Balochistan

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least developed province, has been the center of political unrest and conflict for decades, despite being rich in mineral resources. Baloch nationalists here have long been demanding greater autonomy, control over natural resources and independence. This conflict has also taken violent form from time to time.

Declaration of independence of Balochistan

In May 2025, Baloch nationalist leaders had announced the independence of Balochistan by separating from Pakistan. Since then the situation has become more tense. Along with Pakistani security forces, projects related to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor have also been the target of continuous attacks.
