US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose 200 percent tariff on French wine and Champagne. French President Emmanuel Macron has rejected Trump’s invitation to join the ‘Board of Peace’, after which the US President has threatened tariffs.
When Trump was asked that Emmanuel Macron might not attend the Board of Peace, he said, ‘Did Macron say that he would not attend the program? Well, no one wants him to come because he is going to step down very soon. I will impose a 200 percent tariff on their wine and champagne, so they will join, but they are not required to join.
A Board of Peace has been formed to bring peace, reconstruction and stability after the war in Gaza, which is headed by US President Donald Trump himself. Its purpose is to support a temporary Palestinian administration for Gaza, manage humanitarian aid and oversee post-conflict governance. Trump has also invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif to join the Board of Peace. However, whether he will participate in it or not has not been confirmed yet from both sides. An invitation has also been sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At present, America and European countries are also at loggerheads regarding Greenland. Trump wants control over Greenland and eight European countries have openly opposed it. Due to this, Trump has announced 10 percent tariff on these countries and said that he can also increase it. 10 percent tariff will be applicable from next month. Trump has also shared a private message from Macron, in which the French President told him that he agrees on the issues of Iran and Syria, but he does not understand what Trump is doing in Greenland.
