The newly elected National President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nitin Naveen formally took charge at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday (January 20, 2026). The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was present on this occasion, seated Nitin Naveen on the chair of BJP National President, fed him sweets with his own hands and then patted his back and congratulated him and best wishes for the new post.

During this, many senior party leaders including former BJP national president and Union Minister JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami were present.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also shared a post on social media platform X regarding Nitin Naveen taking over as the national president of BJP. He wrote in the post, ‘Many congratulations and best wishes to Nitin Naveen ji on assuming the charge of National President of BJP. He is the youngest leader of the party to reach this important post. With his tireless hard work and dedication, he has come this far by fulfilling the responsibilities of the organization with full responsibility.

He said, ‘I am confident that his energetic leadership, organizational ability and deep connect with the workers will further strengthen the party. Under his leadership, all BJP workers will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling their resolve of national service and public service with new zeal and enthusiasm.

On the occasion of Nitin Naveen taking over as the National President of BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met his family and while talking to them, congratulated them too. During this, Prime Minister Modi also fed sweets to the children and other people of Nitin Naveen’s family.
