Now a report has said that Samsung is making its most advanced OLED display till date, but it will not use it itself. This panel is being made for Apple, which can use it in iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone.
What will be special in the new display?
According to reports, Samsung will supply LTPO+ (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon Oxide Plus) displays for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. This display is more power efficient and an infrared camera can also be placed under these panels. Another advantage of this display will be that even after offering variable refresh rate (1-120Hz), it will consume less battery. This means that the user will get a great display as well as long battery life in the upcoming iPhone.
Will also help in reducing the dynamic island
With the help of the new display panel, Apple will also get a chance to reduce the dynamic island. Actually, currently the FaceID sensor is installed in the display island. If Apple uses LTPO+ panel in the upcoming iPhone, then it will be able to place the Face ID sensor below the display and it will not need a cutout. This will save space in the dynamic island and the company will be able to reduce its size. Let us tell you that Apple wants to completely eliminate the dynamic island in iPhone 20 Pro Max and give full display.
iPhone 18 Pro models will be launched this year
Apple is changing its launch schedule from this year. Till now, the company has been launching all its new iPhones in September, but this year, foldable iPhone will be launched along with iPhone 18 Pro models in September. The standard variant of the series iPhone 18 and its affordable version iPhone 18e will be launched in February-March next year.
