How Weather Change Affects Health: The weather has changed in North India this time. After severe cold in many states including the capital Delhi, the weather is now feeling warm with sunshine during the day. Frequent changes in temperature are being seen due to heat in the afternoon and increase in coolness in the evening. After 6 years, 21st January was the hottest day of the month of January recorded in Delhi. Doctors say that these fluctuations in weather can affect people’s health.
will affect the body
The body has to adjust itself with the change in weather. During this period, the body of many people is not able to withstand such changes completely. Due to this they have to face various types of problems. If precautions are taken in advance, then problems occurring during this period like viral infection, bacterial infection, allergy and dehydration and many other problems can be avoided.
Which diseases are at risk?
Dr. Santosh Kumar, Director of Sanjeevani Hospital, Darbhanga, says, “With the change in weather, many types of problems start appearing, such as sudden increase in the cases of viral fever and flu. This happens because during the change in weather, our immunity gets affected and becomes weak. Due to this, the attack of the virus intensifies. During this time, some people have to face headache, fatigue, body pain, fever and throat problems. Children and the elderly are the most affected. The risk of bacteria is also high during the season, due to which the cases of many types of infections increase.”
Problems increase as temperature increases
With increase in temperature the risk of allergies and respiratory problems increases. This is because not only the weather changes, but along with it dust, smoke and pollution-causing elements also become active in the air, which trigger these problems. During this period, problems like difficulty in breathing, runny nose, constant sneezing, allergic rhinitis and asthma may increase in people.
How to take care of health in changing weather
Doctors say that one can keep oneself safe in this season by making some changes in lifestyle. For this-
- Drink enough water and take lukewarm liquids if you have throat discomfort.
- eat fresh and nutritious food
- Layer your clothes to adjust to the temperature
- Avoid direct exposure to cold air after sweating
- If fever or cough does not improve within a few days, consult a doctor.
Doctors say that by taking these small precautions, diseases can be avoided in the changing weather and immunity can be kept strong.
