Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) action against corruption has intensified in Telangana. A huge amount of illegal property has been revealed in the raid conducted on Wednesday (January 21, 2026) against the suspended Additional Collector of Hanumkonda district Arramada Venkata Reddy. After being caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 on December 5, 2025, simultaneous raids were conducted today at his multiple locations in Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Miryalaguda in view of the disproportionate assets revealed in the investigation.
During this period, the officials have seized illegal assets worth about Rs 10 crore, which includes 2 kg of gold and Rs 30 lakh in cash.
Venkat Reddy was on the post of Joint Secretary in-charge in Telangana Education Department.
This entire case dates back to December 5, 2025, when ACB arrested Venkat Reddy while taking bribe in exchange for processing the renewal file of a private school, Creative Model School. He was also working as Joint Secretary in-charge in Telangana Education Department.
However, during the investigation, this matter was not limited to bribery only and it was revealed that this was just the tip of the iceberg. During the search conducted at the residence of the accused officer, a huge amount of cash and property documents were recovered.
2 kg gold, 30 lakh cash and 42 lakh rupees found in the bank in the raid
In a detailed investigation and raid, the officials seized 2 kg gold (whose current market value is around Rs 32 lakh), Rs 30 lakh in cash and Rs 42 lakh kept in the bank locker from them. In terms of properties, he has got a luxurious house, a villa and 10 plots of warehouse in LB Nagar. The total value of these assets acquired through illegal means is estimated at Rs 10 crore, which is much higher than his known sources of income.
Officials are thoroughly examining documents, bank accounts and properties.
Currently ACB teams are active in Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Miryalaguda and are continuing the raids. Officials are thoroughly examining all the seized documents, bank accounts and properties. This action gives a strong message against corruption among administrative officials. Soon the officers will file their report and further legal action will be ensured in this matter.
