The condition of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, President of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, is critical. His health suddenly deteriorated today (January 21) morning, after which he was taken to Shri Ram Hospital in Ayodhya. From there he was referred to Medanta Hospital, Lucknow. Nritya Gopal Das is undergoing treatment in ICU. Medanta Hospital said that Nritya Gopal Das was not drinking properly and was not even eating food for the last 4-5 days.
Brought to hospital in unconscious state – Medanta
Medanta Hospital said that at 3 pm on January 21, he was brought to the emergency of Medanta Hospital due to intestinal infection (diarrhea) and in an unconscious state. He has been admitted to the ICU through the emergency of Medanta Hospital. Medanta Hospital has constituted a team of expert doctors which includes Dr. Dilip Dubey, Dr. Abhay Verma (enterologist) and Dr. Rakesh Kapoor (urologist), under whose supervision Mahant is undergoing treatment.
Struggling with urinary problems since 2019
86-year-old Mahant Nritya Gopal Das has been suffering from urinary problems and inability to eat since 2019. In the past years, he has been admitted to Medanta Hospital several times. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das is the head of Mani Ram Das’s Chhawni Temple and Ram Janmabhoomi Trust.
Born on 11 June 1938 in Mathura
After the demolition of Babri Masjid, Vishwa Hindu Parishad established Ram Janmabhoomi Trust in January 1993. This trust is overseeing the construction of Ram temple. Born on June 11, 1938 in Kerhala village of Mathura, Mahant has played an important role in the construction of many important temples including Ramayana Bhawan, Shri Ranganath Temple and Shri Char Dham Temple in Ayodhya. He has been associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement for many decades.
