Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Siwan on Thursday (January 22, 2026) under ‘Samriddhi Yatra’. Meanwhile, a massive explosion took place in Badram village of Hussainganj police station area, about 6-7 kilometers away from the venue of the Chief Minister’s programme, in which one person lost his life. He has been identified as Murtuja Ansari.

There was a stir in the area after the incident. The sound of the explosion was heard for some distance. There was chaos among the people. Initial investigation has revealed that the explosion occurred while making firecrackers illegally.

News of many people getting injured in the accident

It is being told that many people have also been seriously injured in this incident. He has been admitted to nearby hospitals. The condition of some is critical. In such a situation, it is also believed that the number of deaths may increase. Till the time of writing the news, no official statement had come on this. The intensity of the blast was so high that the walls and roofs of many nearby houses were damaged. The administration team arrived as soon as information about the incident was received. Relief and rescue work started.

Review of development works taken in Siwan

Today is the sixth day of Nitish Kumar’s visit. CM took stock of the development works in Siwan. Along with him, Home Department Minister cum Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, besides the Chief Secretary of Bihar and other senior officials were also present.

In Siwan, Nitish Kumar inspected Hussainganj path from Andar Dhala and Jal Jeevan Hariyali Park and pond. Also inspected the newly constructed facilities in Government Medical College, Mairwa. Laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various developmental schemes. The CM also saw the stalls that had been set up. Also addressed the public meeting.
