After this, Bangladesh expressed its opposition to the ICC’s decision and demanded the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) to intervene in this matter. It is reported that DRC has refused to hear Bangladesh’s appeal. Amidst this entire controversy, former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif has said that Pakistan should also boycott the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan should boycott T20 World Cup
On his YouTube channel, Rashid Latif said that Pakistan should come out in support of Bangladesh and boycott the T20 World Cup 2026. He said, “If there is no match between India and Pakistan, then half of your World Cup will already have failed. This is a great opportunity to challenge the current state of cricket.”
Latif further said, “Pakistan should openly support Bangladesh and say that it will not play in the T20 World Cup. This is the time to take a big decision, which requires determination.”
Let us remind you that last year the Pakistan team had refused to come to India for the Champions Trophy 2025. After several weeks of struggle, the ICC decided that the matches between India and Pakistan will be played at neutral venues.
Scotland will replace Bangladesh
According to media reports, DRC has refused to hear Bangladesh’s appeal. In such a situation, the last hope of Bangladesh has also ended. It is being told that tomorrow i.e. on Saturday, ICC can declare Scotland as the replacement of Bangladesh in T20 World Cup 2026.
ICC said that there is no danger to Bangladeshi players if they come to India. On this, Rashid Latif said that no organization in the world can make such a claim, because according to him, it is impossible to guarantee complete security even in the safest places of the world.
