A saint from Jaipur present on the spot has made a big claim regarding the incident of stopping the palanquin of Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati and misbehaving with the devotees on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya in Prayagraj Magh Mela. He has accused IPS officers of systematic misbehavior and assault.

Saint Swami Devkinandan Purohit Param of Jaipur said that the IPS officers misbehaved with him in a planned manner and assaulted him. He claimed that the officers detained about 30 devotees and kept them in the police station for 3 hours. He was also misbehaved and beaten in the police station.

Jaipur saint’s claim on Shankaracharya controversy

Saint Devkinandan claimed that senior police officers had kicked some devotees with their shoes. The Inspector, Sub Inspector and the constable present there were also surprised by this attitude of the officers. He did stop the palanquin and refuse to move ahead. But, no devotee or devotee was assaulted.

Saint Swami Devkinandan Purohit of Jaipur is a representative in the Param Dharma Sansad. He has an ashram and works for cow shelters and is also associated with Jyotish Peeth. After Brahmalin Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, he considers Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand as his guru.

‘Officers kicked the devotees with their shoes’

Mouni had gone to Prayagraj to take bath on Amavasya in Magh Mela. He was also staying in the camp of Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati and that day he was going with him for Sangam bath. In a conversation with ABP News here, he has made many serious allegations. He said that the attitude of the police and administration that day was completely incomprehensible. Not only this, elderly saints were also beaten.

Senior officers had maintained the front

Sant Devkinandan said that at the time of the incident, IAS and IPS officers themselves were on guard. He was continuously provoking the police personnel below. The kind of barbarity that was carried out was shocking. The officers were also standing at the spot and abusing Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand. He alleged that during the clash, an officer was repeatedly taking the name of a particular caste and saying that they were becoming contractors of the religion.
