This rhetoric has come to light after a video clip in which Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed has called Rahul Gandhi a virtual president. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also shared the video and accused Rahul Gandhi of hypocrisy. He said that Shakeel Ahmed has claimed that Rahul Gandhi has made Mallikarjun Kharge the dummy President of Congress. Actually LOP Rahul Gandhi does not believe in organizational democracy.
Shakeel Ahmed exposed the working of Congress: Poonawala
Shahzad Poonawala has said that Shakeel Ahmed’s statements have exposed the real functioning of Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. He said that Gandhi feels insecure and uncomfortable with those leaders who speak the truth in the party. Then such leaders are gradually sidelined. Due to this insecurity, the internal weaknesses of the party have been exposed. For this reason the party is facing electoral defeat. Referring to Bihar elections, he said that the defeat was not due to vote theft or any technical issue. Rather, it was caused by internal failures and wrong ticket distribution.
Alleging vote theft to hide failure: Poonawala
Poonawala said that these leaders have clearly said that the party has lost due to internal weaknesses. Yet, to hide his failures, Rahul Gandhi keeps alleging vote theft. Gandhi’s public statement on democracy does not reflect the reality within the party. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi has sidelined those leaders who were once close to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Due to this the party has been marginalized in many states.

While sharing the video, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya wrote, ‘The truth inside Congress is now coming out openly. Former Union Minister Shakeel Ahmed has called Rahul Gandhi an insecure leader. He has called Rahul Gandhi a coward and said that Rahul does not like strong leaders in Congress. According to Shakeel Ahmed, the leaders who are strong in the party due to their thinking and connection with the grassroots level, make Rahul Gandhi feel uncomfortable. This is the reason why Congress has continuously weakened its leaders. The grassroots level leadership has not been allowed to move forward.
