Tata XPRES launched at Rs 5.59 lakh, will get better boot space with dual CNG cylinder

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has launched its new fleet sedan Tata XPRES in India in petrol and CNG variants. The starting ex-showroom price of this car has been kept at Rs 5.59 lakh for petrol variant and Rs 6.59 lakh for CNG variant. XPRES has been specifically designed with professional fleet operators in mind, enabling better earnings and lower expenses for taxi and commercial use. Its booking has now started at all authorized fleet dealerships.

Petrol and CNG engines

  • Tata XPRES has the company’s 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, which comes with manual transmission. Both petrol and CNG variants have been engineered for continuous use over long periods of time. Tata’s focus in this car has been on better mileage, durability and low maintenance, which are the most important factors for fleet customers.

70 liter dual CNG cylinder

  • The biggest feature of XPRES CNG is its 70 liter (water capacity) twin-cylinder CNG tank. This is the highest capacity CNG setup in its segment. The large CNG tank reduces the need for frequent refueling, making long distance journeys easier and increasing operating time.
  • Despite having dual CNG cylinders, there has been no compromise on boot space in the Tata XPRES. It offers the best usable boot space in the segment thanks to intelligent twin-cylinder packaging. With this, fleet operators do not face the problem of losing bookings due to luggage. The petrol variant has a large boot space of 419 litres, which is considered to be the largest in the petrol fleet sedan segment.

Tata’s focus on fleet customers

  • According to Vivek Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, XPRES has been designed keeping in mind the everyday needs and challenges of fleet customers. Dual CNG cylinders and large boot space make it a strong option for commercial use.
