Do You Really Need To Detox Your Body: Today everyone is aware about health, but the problem is that the more information is available, the more the confusion is increasing. Viral advice on social media, old home remedies and claims like “one solution, cure for every disease” easily influence people. The result is that many times, without checking, people believe in things which have no scientific basis.

Medicine expert Dr. Ananya Mehta says that most health myths persist because they contain a grain of truth, which is exaggerated over time.

Misconception 1: It is necessary to detox the body from outside

Detox teas, juices and powders promise to cleanse the body from within. But according to doctors, the body does not need separate detox. Dr. Mehta says that liver and kidneys work day and night to remove waste from the body. Consuming only liquid for a long time in the name of detox can weaken the body and also lead to deficiency of essential nutrients.

Misconception 2: Taking more vitamins improves health

Vitamins are important, but taking more than required can do more harm than good. According to doctors, some vitamins get accumulated in the body and can have toxic effects if taken in excess. For common people, a balanced diet is sufficient, unless any specific deficiency is confirmed.

Misconception 3: What is natural does not cause harm

Often people assume that herbal or indigenous things are completely safe. But it is not necessary. Dr. Mehta explains that many natural ingredients affect the body in the same way as medicines and can also react with other medicines. Therefore, it is not right to take supplements or decoctions without consultation.

Misconception 4: Go to the doctor only when sick

Many people maintain distance from the doctor until the problem increases. Experts say that the disease can be caught in its early stages through regular health checkups. If delayed, treatment can be both difficult and expensive.

Misconception 5: Pain is inevitable as we age

Changes occur in the body with age, but it is not right to consider constant pain as “normal”. According to Dr. Mehta, prolonged pain can be a sign of some internal problem, ignoring which can prove dangerous.

Why do health related misconceptions become a threat?

Misconceptions not only harm information, but also lead to delays in getting the right treatment, wrong decisions, and unnecessary worry. Experts believe that incomplete or wrong information can sometimes be more harmful than the disease itself.

How to differentiate between right and wrong?

Doctors advise to trust only certified and scientific sources. Avoid claims of miraculous cures or instant effects. Consult a doctor before taking any major decision. Apart from this, question such information which tells to stay away from treatment.
