Pakistan Boycott India Match: Pakistan is not desisting from its activities. Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad was revealed last Sunday, but now there is news that it may boycott the match against India. According to media reports, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering 2 options. The first is to boycott the T20 World Cup 2026 and the second is to boycott the match against India on 15 February.
ICC has expelled Bangladesh from the T20 World Cup, its place has been given to Scotland. According to Pakistani channel Geo TV, PCB may boycott the India vs Pakistan match, which is to be played in Colombo on February 15, in protest against this decision of ICC.
India vs Pakistan match will be the biggest match of T20 World Cup 2026 in terms of viewership and business. In the same report it was also told that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will meet Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif today. However, PCB should also keep in mind that if such a decision is taken, ICC can take strict action against it.

If Pakistan boycotts the T20 World Cup or the match against India, then ICC can impose a huge fine on it or its points can be deducted in the World Cup. He may even have to face a ban from upcoming ICC tournaments. Let us tell you that as per the demand of Pakistan, its matches in T20 World Cup 2026 will be played under hybrid model. Meaning, all its matches are to be held in Sri Lanka, while India is the co-host of this tournament.
According to the schedule, Pakistan has to play its first match in the World Cup with Netherlands on 7 February. They will face USA on 12th February and then their match against India will be on 15th February. The last league stage match of the Pakistan team will be with Namibia on 18 February.
