Government of India has announced Padma Awards 2026. This year a total of 131 civilians are being honored with Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. Many big names from the cinema and entertainment world are included in this list. The most important thing is that late actors Dharmendra Ji and Satish Shah are being given posthumous honours. Dharmendra Ji will receive Padma Vibhushan for his legendary contribution, while Satish Shah will be awarded Padma Shri for his memorable film and TV roles. Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty will receive Padma Bhushan. Veteran playback singer Alka Yagnik and late advertising legend Piyush Pandey are also Padma Bhushan recipients. At the same time, the names of R. Madhavan and Bengali cinema superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee are included in the Padma Shri list. Expressing happiness over Dharmendra Ji’s honour, his co-star Hema Malini wrote on Alka Yagnik also shared an emotional message and thanked her listeners for their unconditional love. R. Madhavan said, “I consider this not just an award, but a responsibility,” and Mammootty gave a simple and heartfelt reaction saying, “Santosham, athi santhosham,” and the respect he has received from the country is the biggest for him.
Overall, Padma Awards 2026 has become a historic and proud moment for Indian cinema and artists.
