While issuing the notification on Tuesday (January 27, 2026), Joint Secretary of the State Government, Naveen Chandra has written a letter to the DGP of Patna. Shatrughan Sinha, also known as Shot Gun, had Z+ security in Bihar. Now Y category security has been provided. Tejashwi Yadav had Z security which has been removed and given Y+ security. However, Tejashwi Yadav will get the facility of escort vehicle. The security of former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has also been reduced. She comes from Sasaram. He had already received Y Plus category security. Now X category security will be available.
Giriraj Singh’s security increased
A meeting of the State Security Committee was held on 16 January. The decision on this was taken in this meeting itself. Giriraj Singh’s name is also in the list. Their security has increased. Earlier there was Y category security, now Y plus category security will be available. JDU MLC Sanjay Singh had Y category security, now he will get the facility of escort along with Y security.
Engineer Sunil Kumar, former MLA of Harnaut, has been given X category security. Earlier they had no security. Nawada MP and BJP leader Vivek Thakur had earlier received Y category security. Now it has been made Y Plus. Chirag Paswan’s brother-in-law and Jamui MP Arun Bharti has been given Y Plus security. AIMIM state president and Amour MLA Akhtarul Iman has been provided Y category security.
Sanjay Saraogi gets Z category security
Bihar BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi has been given Z category security. Health Minister Mangal Pandey has also got Z security. Senior JDU leader and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh has been provided Z category security. Nitish Mishra has got Y category security. Bhojpur MLA Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha has got Y category security.
The security of Pashupati Paras has been reduced. Now you will get X category security instead of Y. The security of Congress leader and former MLA Shakeel Ahmed has been changed from Y to X. Senior JDU leader and spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Singh has been provided X category security. He had not received any security beforehand. When BJP National President Nitin Naveen comes to Bihar, he will have Z category security. There will also be an escort vehicle.
The security of three big leaders of Bihar has been completely ended. These include former Speaker of Bihar Assembly Uday Narayan Chaudhary, senior Congress leader and former Legislative Council member Madan Mohan Jha and former Aurangabad MLA Rajesh Kumar.
