February Bank Holiday: The month of January is about to end and now the month of February is about to begin. In such a situation, if you also want to complete any bank related work this month, then first of all you should know on which days the banks are going to be closed. It may happen that on visiting the branch you come to know that the bank is closed today.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has officially announced the complete list of bank holidays for February. Apart from the weekly off, this includes holidays on the second and fourth Saturday of the month and holidays according to the states’ own festivals. Information about bank holiday list is also important so that along with avoiding last minute problems, it also helps in managing financial tasks easily.
List of bank holidays in February 2026
- 1 February (Sunday) – Weekly Off
- 14 February (Saturday) – Second Saturday
- 15th February (Sunday) – Weekly Off
- 22 February (Sunday) – Weekly Off
- 28 February (Saturday) – Fourth Saturday
On these dates, all public and private sector bank branches across India will remain closed.
State-wise bank holiday list
- 15 February – On the occasion of Mahashivratri, banks will remain closed in many other states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh. Since Mahashivratri is falling on Sunday in 2026, banks will remain closed on this day anyway due to weekly off.
- 18 February – Banks will remain closed in Sikkim due to Tibetan New Year celebrations.
- 19 February – There will be a bank holiday in Maharashtra on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
- 20 February – Banks will remain closed in Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on the occasion of State Foundation Day.
Since the dates of holidays due to festivals or special occasions vary from state to state, customers are advised to check their local RBI holiday calendar before visiting the bank branch.
Whether banks are closed or not, online or mobile banking services remain operational 24*7. If you want, you can take help of UPI transaction, internet banking and mobile banking app during bank holidays. Apart from this, the facility to withdraw cash and check balance from ATM will also be available. However, if you need check clearance, demand draft or over-the-counter service, you will have to wait till the branch opens.
