Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that talks are going on with the government on this issue. He told that all options have been discussed in the meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The final decision can be taken by Friday or Monday. However, PCB already knows that any strict step can increase problems for it.
Pakistan media told possible options
According to Pakistan media reports, PCB has many options. These include boycotting the entire tournament, withdrawing from the match against India, playing all the matches wearing a black armband or attributing every victory in the tournament to Bangladesh. But the risk is clearly visible in all these options.
What will happen if you leave only the match against India?
Even if Pakistan does not play the match against India on February 15, it will not get any relief. According to reports, the broadcaster company can claim about 38 million dollars, i.e. approximately Rs 348 crore. This amount can be sought to compensate for the loss of advertising, sponsorship and brand value.
Not only this, under the agreement with ICC, this amount can also be deducted from the annual revenue received by Pakistan. In such a situation, Pakistan cricket, which is already facing financial crisis, may become further weak.
It is even more dangerous to withdraw from the entire tournament
If Pakistan leaves the entire T20 World Cup, it may face strict sanctions from the ICC. This may include steps like pulling out of future tournaments, stopping revenue sharing and taking legal action.
