Hindustan Times report quoted a source as saying, “Arijit is going to be busy with his first film as a director, he was very passionate about it for a long time, and it requires time and effort. He is not able to do that with so many offers. He will fulfill his directorial responsibilities, it is like a break of a year or more.”
Although reports have claimed that Arijit Singh’s “retirement” from playback singing is only temporary, the singer has not reacted to these rumours. It is being said that Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s daughter Shora will be the heroine in Arijit’s debut film as a director.

Earlier, Arijit Singh had told on his X account why he took this step at such a high stage of his career. Arijit wrote, “There is not just one reason behind this, there are many reasons for this, and I have been thinking about this for a long time. Finally, I have gathered the necessary courage.” The singer further said, “One reason is quite simple that I lose interest quickly, that is why I often change the arrangements of my songs and perform them live.”
Then he made a shocking revelation, “So, the truth is: I’m tired, I need to explore different types of music to move forward.” Arijit also wrote about his desire to make room for new talent in the industry, “Another reason is that I want to listen to new singers who can truly inspire me.”
