There was a lot of tussle between the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently. Due to this, there was a delay in the announcement of the warm-up schedule of T20 World Cup 2026. Finally, the schedule of the warm-up matches of the World Cup has been released, in which 15 matches will be played. These matches will be played from 2nd February to 6th February, while the World Cup tournament will start from 7th February.
Bangladesh has been replaced by Scotland, because the Bangladesh Cricket Board had refused to send its team to India. Especially for Scotland, the warm-up matches will be very important, because they have not got any time to prepare. Before the start of the tournament, Team India will play 3 warm-up matches.
The warm-up matches of T20 World Cup 2026 will start from February 2. These matches will be played in Bengaluru, Chennai, Navi Mumbai and Colombo. The first match will be played between Afghanistan and Scotland on 2 February. Team India will also be seen in action on the same day.
India will play 3 warm-up matches
The Indian team will play its first warm-up match with USA on 2 February. After that, the Indian team will be seen in action on 4th February, where it has to play a warm-up match with South Africa. After that there will be a match between India and Namibia on 6th February.
