After the visit of United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has also reached UAE. Here he met the President of UAE on Tuesday (January 27, 2026) and talked about ways to strengthen Pakistan’s relations with UAE.
According to the report of Pakistani news channel Sama TV, Asif Ali Zardari talked to Mohammad Bin Zayed about bilateral relations, exploring new opportunities in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure and technology. Asif Ali Zardari said that Mohammed bin Zayed’s recent visit to Pakistan is very important for him. He also praised the UAE’s continuous cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations. Mohammed bin Zayed went on an official visit to Pakistan on 26 December.
This meeting between Asif Ali Zardari and UAE President has taken place at a time when Mohammed Bin Zayed had visited India just a few days ago. During his visit, both the countries have also signed a Letter of Intent, in which it has been agreed to strengthen strategic defense partnership, space cooperation, energy and economic relations. Under this, bilateral trade will be doubled to 200 billion dollars by the year 2032 and investment in India will be promoted. Mohammed bin Zayed visited India for 2-3 hours on January 19 and signed important agreements and discussed increasing bilateral cooperation.
In the meeting held by Asif Ali Zardari with Mohammad Bin Zayed, Pakistan’s First Lady and President’s daughter Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE also participated.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has also separately met UAE Minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Managing Director of AD Ports Group Juma Al Shamisi. AD Group has been investing in Pakistan for a long time. In both the meetings, Pakistan stressed on strengthening bilateral relations with UAE, promoting tolerance and enhancing economic partnership.
In a meeting with the Managing Director of AD Group, Asif Ali Zardari said that the company’s investment is an important pillar of economic cooperation for Pakistan. According to the report, in the meeting both agreed to expand port infrastructure, increase trade activities in line with innovation, improve digital and customs facilities.
