The latest military strength ranking of Global Firepower (GFP) 2026 has been released. This ranking determines the war capability of 145 countries on the basis of more than 60 factors like active soldiers, tanks, aircraft, navy, budget, geography etc. The lower the Power Index (PwrIndx) score, the more power. The perfect score is 0.0000, which is impossible.
According to this list, these are the countries with the top 5 strongest armies among the Muslim-majority countries…
1. Turkey is the most powerful Muslim country
Turkey’s global rank is 9, which means it is the most powerful Muslim country. Turkey’s PwrIndx score is 0.1975, which makes it the country with the 9th strongest military strength in the world. It is a member of NATO and has strong drone technology. Turkey’s large army and growing industry have made it the most powerful Muslim country in the Middle East and Europe. Talking about Turkey’s manpower, it has 4,81,000 active personnel and 3,80,000 reserve personnel, while there is a paramilitary force of 1,50,000, which helps in internal security and special operations. The total aircraft in Turkey’s airpower is 1,101. The Land Forces have 2,284 tanks and 98,193 armored vehicles. Whereas the total assets in Naval Forces are 192 which include 17 frigates and 14 submarines.
2. Indonesia’s Number One Merchant Marine Fleet
After Turkey, Indonesia is at second place, whose global rank is 13 and PwrIndx score is 0.2582. Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Indonesia’s manpower consists of 40,4500 active personnel and 40,1000 reserves while 2,50,000 are paramilitary. The air power has a total of 460 aircraft, including 41 fighters, 212 helicopters and 15 attack helicopters. The Land Forces have 331 tanks and 28,064 armored vehicles. The total assets in the Naval Forces are 338, which include 10 frigates and 4 submarines. There is also a merchant marine fleet of 11,422 which ranks first in the world.
3. Despite nuclear power, Pakistan is lagging behind
Despite having nuclear power, Pakistan is at third place and global rank is 14. Pakistan’s PwrIndx score is 0.2626. Pakistan’s manpower includes active personnel of 6,600,00, reserve of 5,500,00 and paramilitary personnel of 5,000,00. The total number of aircraft in the airpower is 1,397, fighters are 331, helicopters are 379 and attack helicopters are 55. Pakistan also has fighter jets like JF17 and F16. The Land Forces have 2,677 tanks and 59,044 armored vehicles. The total assets in the Naval Forces are 120, 9 frigates and 8 submarines.
4. Iran’s drone technology on top in the world
Iran’s global rank is 16 and it is at fourth place in this list. Its PwrIndx score is 0.3199. There are 6,10,000 active personnel in Iran’s manpower. Reserve is 3,50,000 and paramilitary is 2,200,00. This includes IRGC which is used in special forces and proxy operations. Iran has a total of 551 aircraft, which include 188 fighters, 129 helicopters and 13 attack helicopters. Iran’s drone technology is at the top of the world which gives advantage in asymmetric warfare. There are 2,675 tanks and 75,939 armored vehicles in the Land Forces. The total assets in the Naval Forces are 109, which include 7 frigates and 25 submarines.
5. Egypt’s largest army in the Arab world
Egypt is at 5th place in this list and 19th in the global ranking. Egypt’s PwrIndx score is 0.3651. It is an active member of the African Union and also has the largest army in the Arab world. Egypt’s manpower consists of 4,38,500 active personnel, 4,79,000 in reserve and 3,00,000 paramilitary. The total number of aircraft in Egypt’s airpower is 1,088, including 242 fighters, 348 helicopters and 100 attack helicopters. The Land Forces have 3,620 tanks and 54,694 armored vehicles. The total assets in the Naval Forces are 149, which include 13 frigates and 8 submarines.
