The tension between America and Iran has now reached its peak. Tehran warned on Wednesday (January 28) that its military would respond strongly to any US military operation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on Twitter that his army is ready and has its finger on the trigger to respond strongly to any attack on the country.
Araghchi’s comments came after US President Donald Trump’s threat that Iran should deal with America on its disputed nuclear program or else it would have to face a massive American attack. Trump had said that a big war fleet is advancing and time is running out for Iran.
What did the Iranian Foreign Minister say on America’s threat?
The Iranian Foreign Minister strongly retaliated to America’s threat and said that their armed forces are ready. However, Araghchi has also indicated readiness for an agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program. He posted on X that Iran has always welcomed a mutually beneficial, fair and equal nuclear deal. A deal free from threats and intimidation, which ensures Iran’s rights to peaceful nuclear technology and guarantees that it will have no nuclear weapons.
Regarding nuclear weapons, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that we have never tried to acquire them. He reiterated Tehran’s old claim that its nuclear program focuses only on research and development of civil energy.
