The Delhi High Court refused to hear the case filed by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede alleging defamation in his role in the Netflix series “Bads of Bollywood”. Delhi High Court said that this court does not have the authority to hear the complaint.

The Delhi High Court returned the complaint so that it could be presented before the court of correct jurisdiction.

The single bench of Purushendra Kaurav ordered that the case be sent to the court which has the right jurisdiction to hear such a case. This case should be filed back in the correct court.

Wankhede has alleged that wrong and derogatory content was deliberately shown against him in the web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’. He says that this web series has not only damaged his personal reputation and honor but has also affected his family. He said that the image of the Central Narcotics Bureau was shown in a negative manner in this series, which weakened the trust of the common people in the law and government agencies.

Wankhede had demanded from the court that he should be given permanent order and compensation. Under this, Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, Twitter (now X Corp), Google, Facebook and other related parties are included. He said that this web series has deliberately shown biased and derogatory content against him.

Sameer Wankhede and Aryan Khan case is currently pending in Bombay High Court and Special NDPS Court. In the complaint he also cited a scene from the series. In this, a character says ‘Satyamev Jayate’ and immediately after that makes an obscene gesture. According to the complainant, this is not only insulting to them, but it is also an insult to the national symbol and this slogan. This type of action is considered a crime under Indian law.

Wankhede also demanded compensation of Rs 2 crore from the court. He told that this amount will be given to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for the treatment of cancer patients.

After hearing the arguments of both the parties, Delhi High Court had reserved the decision for 2 December 2025. Now the court has sent the case to the court of right jurisdiction. After this decision, this matter will go to the concerned court for further legal process.
