On the annual festival, devotees from far and wide including Sawai Madhopur, Gwalior, Jhalawar, Kota, Pipalkheda, Morena, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi come to see Bhainru Baba.
This is how the tradition of Mahaprasad started
According to mythological beliefs, a person named Songiri Poswal was a devotee of Bhainru ji. Who wanted to install the idol of Bhainru Baba in village Kuhada. The devotee went to Kashi to bring the idol of Bhainru Baba. Bhainru Baba appeared in his dream and asked Songiri to sacrifice his elder son, on which he sacrificed his son and went away with the idol of Bhainruji.
Bhainru Baba is pleased with the test and brings his son back to life. After which the devotee and his son along with Panch Peers established the idol in the village with rituals and Jagran and Bhandara. Even today the ancient Panchdev Khejri tree is worshipped. The special thing about the fair held here is that toy shops, chaat pakoda carts and swings are not allowed here.
Lakhs of devotees gather in the Lakhi fair held every year. At the same time, public representatives and leaders also cheat in Baba’s court.
Khejri tree is also worshiped
Songira II was born to Songira Poshwal I. Who married his daughter Padma Poshwal with Bagdavat Sawai Bhoj on Miti Baishakh Sudi Navami War Sunday Samvat 934. In which a pavilion of Panchdev Khejri tree was installed which is still present. Which is worshiped even today.
Padma Poshwal gave a boon that a woman who is not blessed with a child will get the happiness of a child if she comes out from under the root present in the pavilion. This boon does not apply to Poshwal Gotra. Since then, Bhairu Baba and Khejri tree started being worshiped in the surrounding areas and thousands of people started coming to worship it.
