Two UANs are created even due to company’s mistake
The most common reason behind creating two UANs is not disclosing the old UAN to the new company. When the employee does not give his old PF information to HR at the time of joining. So a new UAN is generated. But sometimes this happens also due to the mistake of the old company. Because the exit date is not updated there. And the system thinks you are still in your old job. Therefore the new company creates a new UAN. If this has happened to you too, then there is no need to worry. You can merge both UANs into one.

How to merge two UANs?
EPFO has provided online facility to all the members to merge UAN. For this, login to unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in with your UAN and password. After login, go to Online Services and select One Member One EPF Account option. Now check your personal and KYC details carefully. After this, it is better to choose the current employer for attestation.

Because the process there is faster than the old one. Fill the details of old PF Member ID or old UAN and click on Get Details. Verify the OTP received on the mobile and accept the declaration and submit it. After this your employer will process your request and then your UANs will be merged.
