What is Chief Minister Health Scheme?
Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana is a health insurance scheme of the Punjab Government. Its purpose is to ensure that no citizen of the state suffers from not getting treatment. Under the scheme, every eligible family is given cashless medical coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh annually. This facility can be used in the government hospitals of the state as well as in the empaneled private hospitals. This includes treatment ranging from serious diseases to general surgery.
Who can make Chief Minister Health Card?
The basis of eligibility for this scheme is to be a resident of Punjab only. No income limit has been fixed for this, nor is it seen whether the person is in a government or private job. The applicant simply has to prove that he is a permanent or legal resident of Punjab. All members of a family are covered under the same health card. With this, there is no need for the entire family to take separate insurance.
Documents required to make Chief Minister Health Card
Some basic documents are required to get the Chief Minister Health Card made. Aadhar card is necessary as proof of identity and residence. Along with this, Voter ID card is also asked. At many places, passport size photograph also has to be submitted during registration. For the application process, the government organizes registration camps in the districts from time to time. Where the officers themselves help in filling the application. After completion of the application and verification, the health card is issued to the beneficiaries. Through this card, cashless treatment facility is available in hospitals.
