Bangladesh is out of T20 World Cup 2026. The neighboring country had refused to play the tournament due to security concerns in India. Although Bangladesh had also requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to change its venue for the tournament, but its request was not accepted. Now ICC has taken a shocking decision and given entry to Bangladeshi in the tournament.
Actually, ICC announced the list of match officials on Friday (January 30), in which there are 24 umpires and 6 referees. But the thing to note is that Bangladeshi umpire was also present in the umpire’s list. Sharafuddaula Ibne Shahid and Ghazi Sohail are umpires from Bangladesh included in the ICC list.
Apart from this, umpires of Pakistan have also been made a part of the list. Let us tell you that ICC has just announced the match officials (umpire and referee) only for the league stage matches. Match officials for the Super-8 and knockout stage will be confirmed later.
Bangladeshi umpire came to India for ODI series
These days, a 5-match T20 series is being played between India and New Zealand. Before this, a three-match ODI series was played between the two. Sharafuddaula of Bangladesh was seen as the third umpire in all the three matches played on Indian soil. Now Bangladeshi umpires will be seen on Indian soil in the T20 World Cup.

Kumar Dharamsena and Wayne Knights are the umpires of the first match.
The first match of the World Cup starting from 7th February will be played between Pakistan and Netherlands in Colombo. Kumar Dharamsena and Wayne Knights will be seen as umpires in this match.
